Steel parts are dipped in molten zinc, which bonds to the steel and protects it from rust for decades.
Outdoor steel: posts, base plates, railings, farm and trailer parts.
Steel parts (not aluminum or stainless). Tick galvanizing when you order.
Why galvanize
Hot-dip galvanizing coats steel in zinc, inside and out, including edges and holes. Zinc corrodes slowly and protects the steel underneath, so galvanized parts can last decades outdoors with no maintenance.
What people galvanize
Railings and stair stringers, fence and gate parts, farm and livestock equipment, trailer parts, outdoor brackets and base plates, marine and dock hardware, and structural connectors.
Design for galvanizing
Hollow parts (tube, closed boxes) need vent and drain holes so zinc can flow in and out safely. Small holes may partly fill with zinc, so allow extra clearance on bolt holes. The largest part we can galvanize is [XX]" × [XX]" × [XX]". Galvanizing is done [in-house / through our partner galvanizer in Ontario].
Galvanizing plus powder coat
Want colour too? Add powder coating over the zinc. The duplex finish gives the longest outdoor life you can buy.

Quick answers
How long does galvanizing take?
Usually a few extra business days, because parts go through cleaning, dipping and cooling. Your exact date shows before you pay.
Is there a minimum for galvanizing?
No. You can galvanize a single part. Your full price, including any small-order fee, shows before you pay, so there are no surprises.
Will galvanizing change my part's size?
Slightly. Galvanizing adds a thin layer of zinc to every surface, so bolt holes may need a little extra clearance. Our design guidelines show how much to allow.
Can I galvanize stainless or aluminum?
No. Galvanizing is for carbon steel. Stainless and aluminum already resist rust.
